IWATE M0003
TOHOKU METAL

This is a piece made of iron called "Nambu Tekki*" from Iwate Prefecture. The finishing process involves firing the piece in a charcoal kiln, which causes black rust to form on the surface. As it is made of iron, it is heavier than it looks.
