MATSUSHIRO YAKI

MATSUSHIRO YAKI is a traditional pottery produced in the Nagano City area of ​​Nagano Prefecture. Its history dates back to Bunka 13 years during the Edo period, when it reached its heyday, but was abandoned during the Meiji period. It was later re-opened in 1972, and became the current MATSUSHIRO YAKI.

Traditional MATSUSHIRO YAKI is characterized by a blue-green color due to natural glaze. Modern (SHINSHU) MATSUSHIRO YAKI is based on the traditional blue-green color, but each kiln creates its own unique pottery, using glazes melted in local hot springs.


BANGAKU YAKI

BANGAKU YAKI is a traditional pottery produced in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. Its history dates back to the late Edo period, and is said to have begun with ASAMA YAKI, which was fired near Asama hot springs. Later, when it became impossible to obtain clay from Asama, the kilns were moved to the current area near Matsumoto City.

BANGAKU YAKI has a variety of colors, including transparent blue-green (Seiji), red (Yuriko), and gold and silver painted blue-white porcelain with a reddish mountain pattern (Kinginsai).
